Open properties are hard to come by in the ultra-desirable beachfront area of Hanalei Bay in Kauai, but someone new will soon get the chance to enjoy the beautiful neighborhood, now that Julia Roberts has listed her two-acre estate. According to , the Oscar-winning actress is asking $29.85 million for her Hawaiian home, named "The Faye Estate" after the property's original owner, sugar plantation manager H.P. Faye. When Faye purchased the property in 1915, he combined two lots to create the large estate, and it is now one of the only homes in the area to retain the large, open feel of Hanalei Bay's original estates, according to the
Roberts and her husband Danny Moder originally paid $13.4 million when they purchased the 3,792 square-foot home in 2011. The house was built in 1946 and comes equipped with seven bedrooms and four bathrooms, as well as direct access to the ocean and mountain views. The new owner will also be permitted to build new structures, a pool, or a larger home up to 9,000 square feet.
