Eloise isn't the only famous character to call New York City's famed home.
In fact, a celebrity actually rooted in reality has lived in the hotel's penthouse — fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger.
But he won't be there for much longer. According to the , Hilfiger just for $68.95 million, a significantly lower price than the $80 million he was . (Also lower than the $75 million he was .)
Clearly, Hilfiger hasn't had the easiest time finding a buyer for the penthouse, but after seeing photos of the space, we're not exactly sure why.
The opulently-appointed penthouse clocks in at a palatial (by Manhattan standards) 5,655 square feet, and features unobstructed views of Fifth Avenue and Central Park. It's basically a city dweller's dream.
Luxe details abound, too, including a spiral staircase, wet bar, terrace, library, and walk-in closets. And, of course, the apartment owners have full access to The Plaza's many amenities, including maid service and room service.
The hefty price tag means actually owning said penthouse will be out of reach for most of us, but now that the , we can at least purchase a small piece of the hotel.
