It’s going to be 's summer in New York City. The Italian furniture juggernaut opened a beautiful new 12,500 square-foot flagship at 160 Madison—the first of its kind to house the Group’s three brands: Molteni&C, Dada, and UniFor.

The Belgian designer and ED A-Lister artfully designed the space, keeping the building’s original architectural features intact. An impressive walnut-clad staircase joins the store’s two levels; marble portals punctuate the spacious layout; and travertine flooring was installed as a homage to the company’s Italian heritage.

Van Duysen’s extensive oeuvre of residential interiors lends well to the new flagship. The store captures the intimacy of a private home across individual spaces that represent hallmark features of Molteni, including the Paul seating system, the VVD kitchen and the Gliss Master wardrobe system.

To celebrate the opening, 18 works by contemporary artists—like Santo Tolone, Stephen Felton, and Jacopo Miliani—will be on display in the store through July 31st. The exhibition, as it turns out, is teasing a new contemporary art division at the Molteni Museum, which the company opened outside Milan in 2015.

The new Molteni flagship seamlessly melds contemporary art with Italian flair in a sprawling space that promises a stylish escape from the summer heat. Don't forget your checkbook.
