Welcome to our series, "At Home with...," where we sit down with our favorite design tastemakers to learn about the inspiration behind key spaces in their home.

Hospitality entrepreneur David Grutman has made his mark on the Miami nightlife scene with hot spots including LIV, Story, and Komodo, among others. But along with his success building a hospitality empire, there's another asset Grutman is proud of—his home. Nestled in the waterways of Miami's Sunset Islands, the property is a true reflection of the nightlife icon's larger-than-life personality.

Here's a tour of Grutman's eclectic home, which he shares with his wife, Brazilian model Isabela Rangel Grutman, and their one-year-old daughter, Kaia.

“This room is awesome. It just screams fun with the oversized Hush sculpture behind the teal quilted couch and the giant red lamp from Baxter, along with the vintage signed Terry O’Neill print of Faye Dunaway at the Beverly Hills Hilton on the wall. My wife and I designed the entire house ourselves and wanted to make our living room really eclectic and interesting. Isabela has an amazing eye for style. We host all sorts of events in this room. We have business meetings here and entertain guests for fun. We even turn it into a showroom when our favorite vintage store, Hustle Vintage, comes by with new merchandise. We try to make it really welcoming and fun in here. I love the old-school gumball machine full of my favorite–Nerd Gum!"

“I grew up with our family always hanging out in the kitchen. It seems to be the ultimate place of comfort for everyone. Food is a big part of my life at home and at work, so naturally the kitchen in my home is one of my favorite places. We also have amazing artwork in the kitchen. The Alex Yanes Polycade arcade console is always a hit with our guests. It has over 200 games! The urinal in the corner makes me laugh every day. It's made entirely from buttons—all thanks to the amazing Miami artist Augusto Esquivel.

3 The Lego Installation by Dante Dentoni

"I am obsessed with this doorway that is covered in a totally unique Lego installation by Dante Dentoni. His work is amazing. Every time I walk through it, I notice a new detail. He tailored this piece completely for me and all the things I like. In one snapshot, you can find LIV dancers. In another, you’ll find my buddy Hulk Hogan. At the bottom is my boat, the SS Groot. You can even look up at the ceiling, and you’ll find Lego versions of NWA looking down on you. Just looking at this piece makes me smile. And through the doorway into the kitchen, you can see one of our newest additions, the giant “Jealous Man” statue by Kim Won Guen. This guy was made for Instagram. All of our friends strike a pose next to him.”

"This is our relaxation room. I come in here after a long day and hang on this huge, comfortable couch with my family. Kaia loves crawling around on it and has a playroom just to the left of the couch. This room has a really homey feel. It's full of photos and artwork—most notably the gorgeous Anthony Hernandez piece behind the couch that features my beautiful wife, Isabela. We have a few pieces throughout the house that are inspired by Isabela, but this is definitely one of my favorites. It’s colorful and warm, just like her.”

5 The SS Groot

“Miami is all about water. You can be outside 365 days a year. One of my absolute favorite places to be is out on the water with my family and friends on the SS Groot. The boat has become quite the Miami attraction for friends visiting or big-name talent we have playing at the clubs. I love taking them out on the water and showing them why Miami is such a beautiful place to live. That's why my backyard and boat are the top favorite places in my house.”
