Remember the good ole' saying, "If I had a storm cloud for every time Donald Trump pressed *send Tweet*..."? Oh, you haven't? Well, that's because I came up with it right in this moment. Or rather, French designer did, when he thought up this lighting design as a direct response to Trump's Twitter rants.
Connected directly to Trump's Tweets, the Political Lamp reacts in real-time whenever he posts something, creating a mini thunderstorm within its glass encasement. It begins with a soft glow, then as his Tweets roll out, so do flashes of lighting that quickly manifest into a dark cloud. Just in case you need a reminder of the metaphoric one looming over us!
"The idea of the Political Lamp is to hide its true [meaning] behind a beautiful object, which immediately modifies the observation of its anxiety and fascination," according to the site.
Although it's just a prototype and not currently available for purchase, if I had a penny for every time Trump turned to social media to vent, I would probably have enough to afford hundreds of these lamps. Sad!
