Why You Should Stock Up On Ziploc Bags Before A Hurricane

In any natural disaster, supplying fresh drinking water becomes one of the first priorities for relief organizations and volunteers. And if you've been impacted by a hurricane, you might find yourself waiting in long lines to buy bottled water (that is, if stores still have it in stock).

But what you can do instead is be prepared before the storm hits. just suggested one of the easiest and cheapest we've ever heard: Fill up with water and lie them flat in your freezer.

Make sure to only fill the bags about three-quarters full — just so they don't explode in your freezer. If you have empty water bottles in your house, go ahead and fill those up too.
