It’s no secret that Los Angeles is a city flowing with green juice, flowering with kale, and fearful of bread. (As put it last year, “People in L.A. are deathly afraid of gluten...you could rob a liquor store in this city with a bagel.”) But the cleanse trends pose no impediment to Hotel Bel-Air, where the popular at Wolfgang Puck continues with a Michelin-star-studded “East meets West” degustation on October 4, featuring a one-night only over-the-top six-course menu. Japan’s chef Yusuke Takada, making his inaugural visit to Puck’s eponymous restaurant, will prepare three courses of his contemporary French fare—for which his Osaka-based restaurant, La Cime, is known. The other three courses will be a collaboration between Puck and visiting chefs Hugo Bolanos (Hotel Bel-Air) and Tetsu Yahagi (Spago Beverly Hills). Dare we say, this culinary event is the perfect cheat day. Starting at $175 per person.
