I love Archivia,” he says. Their catalogue offers a “passionately curated” library of architecture, design, and fashion titles, including a collection of out-of-print gems.

For her holiday shopping, Archivia Books owner Cynthia Conigliaro adores Creel and Gow, a boutique full of “strange, wonderful, and exquisitely beautiful things.” Nestled in the former stables of a historic Manhattan townhouse, the shop deems itself a “cabinet of curiosities,” and features one-of-a-kind finds sources from destinations as exotic as Yemen by intrepid collectors Jamie Creel and Christopher Gow.

Unfailingly, Rosselli’s gift of choice is the decadent Seven-Layer Caramel Cake by Caroline’s Cakes in South Carolina. “I like to cook, but these cakes are better than anything I could make,” he says.
