Restoration Hardware may have a reputation steeped in traditional design — think, sumptuous fabrics, classic silhouettes and that signature neutral color palette — but all of that might soon change.
According to , the luxury home goods retailer is launching a new offshoot brand aimed at discerning teenagers. The name? RH Teen, obvi.
Don't expect typical teenage furniture full of bright colors and distracting patterns though. The line will include "tasteful, high-quality furniture," Restoration Hardware Chief Executive Officer Gary Friedman said in a statement.
"Today, teens have tremendous exposure to design through the multiple web and social media platforms and are becoming tastemakers in their own right," he continued. "We believe that RH Teen represents an opportunity to infuse taste and style in a market that has been underserved."
RH Teen will launch with a variety of items including furniture, lighting, linens, and décor and although launch dates and price points are not yet available, more information will be released in September.
The new line is just the latest in Restoration Hardware's ongoing expansion. Just a few weeks ago, the company announced plans to create a 14-room boutique hotel in New York City outfitted with all Restoration Hardware products, and they're further expanding their product offerings with a new line of modern designs called .
