Hundreds Of Thousands Of Pier 1 Chairs Have Been Recalled

After 101 incidents, the brand's Swingasan chair has been deemed unsafe.

may be known for its endless offerings globally-inspired home goods, but today, they're making headlines for a less savory reason.

According to the , the company is in the United States and Canada due to the risk of injury.

The swinging chairs, and the steel stands from which they hang, have been the subject of more than a hundred complaints and have caused at least 27 reported injuries. The reports that the furniture can become unstable during use and completely tip over.

There have also been reports of the suspension hardware failing completely.

If you own one of the chairs or stands included in the recall, that you stop use immediately and order a free repair kit. Alternatively, you can bring the items in for a full refund or replacement.

The affected chairs and stands were sold at Pier 1 Imports between January 2010 and August 2015. Take a look at the chart below to see which products are included in the recall:
