Designer Diaries: Homart’s Julia Long
Julia's passes through Charles de Gaulle square, which is dominated by a fountain and serves as the heart of Lille. Founded in the 11th century, the town was originally a castle complex surrounded by water. In fact, the name Lille is derived from the French word for island. Parts of northern France, where Lille is located, are still marsh-like, though the surrounding waters have since receded.
